Exhaust System Coatings

CermaKrome ™ Metallic Ceramic

CermaKrome is the highest performing metallic ceramic coating available. Capable of maintaining adhesion and color stability on substrate up to 1500°F, and over 1800° EGT’s. Cermakrome has passed most salt spray tests (ASTM 117B) to over 7000 hours. Full oven cure at 500°F for one hour. Polishes to a chrome-like finish (recommend a vibratory polisher). Water-based with no hazardous solvents and non-hazardous for shipping.

Ciloxide™ Series Coatings

Ciloxide coatings are capable of providing extremely high levels of thermal protection and will withstand substrate temperatures over 1800°F and 2000°f environmental. In addition, direct flames less than 1800°F will not cause delamination. Ciloxide coatings have excellent corrosion and chemical resistance. A partial cure is at 400°F for one hour with the use of an activator (ACT) and a full cure at 750°F. Ciloxide is solvent-based with low VOCs. Available in multiple colors with a satin finish.

Colorgard™ Series

Colorgard series, like all other current Tech Line ceramic coatings, reduce temperatures under the hood and on the exhaust manifold surface, improve exhaust gas velocity, and increases horsepower. Colorgard coatings withstand substrate temperatures from 1300°F to 2000°F, depending on color. Colorgard cures at 600°F to 700°F (Depending on color). Available in multiple colors with a slightly glossy finish.

Black Satin™

Originally formulated as a protective coating for the fuselage of the X-30 Aero-Space Plane, this ceramic reinforced coating withstands 2000°F substrate temperature, while reducing radiated heat. The result is lower under-hood temperatures and increased exhaust gas velocity, producing more horsepower and torque. Applying Black Satin over HHBK base coat will further increase the thermal barrier function. Full oven cure at 750°F.

Turbo-X™ Series Coatings

Turbo-X is an extreme exhaust coating designed especially for the exhaust side of turbos. It will reduce temperatures under the hood and on the exhaust manifold surface while improving exhaust gas velocity (Hence, better spool rate), and horsepower. Turbo-X will handle substrate temperatures over 1600°F (over 2000°F for short periods). Cures at 650°F to 750°F. Available in black and blue finish with a matte finish.

Carrera Series

Carrera is designed as a high-temperature resistant coating. Carrera can handle substrate temperatures over 1800°F and has good corrosion resistance. Carrera can be applied to and can bond to many different substrates. Carrera can be applied to any of our base coats to increase the thermal and corrosion properties. Available in a range of colors and is solvent-based with low VOC content.

Base Coats

(HHBK, MCS, Prevcor)

Basecoats are designed for a variety of topcoats. Capable of handling substrate temperatures over 2000°F as well as imparting improved corrosion and thermal resistance, HHBK and MCS are the choice of shops looking to produce coatings that go to the extreme for their customer’s demands. Prevcor (1600°F substrate max) is designed more for increased corrosion protection as well. Undercoats can help to hide flaws in substrates as well and are ideal for cast metal.

Pipe ID’s

(TLHB, MCS, MCX)

One addition to the coating exhaust is that it is internal. TLHB can be flow-coated in the pipes or sprayed to add even more thermal protection. TLHB can be used for a variety of surfaces as a thermal barrier. MCS and MCX may also be used for the pipe ID and must be applied sprayed.
