REDUCTION IN EMISSIONS IN DIESEL EXHAUST
Tech Line has just completed the SAE J1321 test using a pair of 2006 Freightliner Columbia trucks with MB4000 engines pulling MANAC 94253002 trailers with the total load exceeding 24000 kg/ 52,800 lbs. The exhaust manifold and turbo housings were coated with TFCC, a special set of coatings designed for Heavy Truck Exhaust systems. The test was to monitor fuel consumption, emission readings in regard to NOX, under hood temperatures and manifold surface temperatures.
While fuel mileage only showed a small increase, due to the EGR management system, the emission reduction was significant. The NOX was down over 10% from the non coated test. In addition the thermal insulating characteristics of the coatings reduced the under hood temperature by 6C/42.8F degrees. This is critical to the life of components located under the hood. The surface temperatures of the manifold also dropped by 150C/302F, with a maximum reading of 220C/428F. These are significant improvements.
Alan wanted to pass on the good results he has had with LTC. He has advised us that:
“We recently had one of our Industrial Accounts bring in ten big rig wheel with the tires mounted and asked for us to polish them and apply a protective coating. We performed the polish job and applied LTC clear. The customer has been very satisfied with the wheels and told us they are going to bring in the rest of the wheels on their fleet. Thanks again for another excellent product.”
These wheels are being used in the oil fields and LTC is protecting the wheels against chemical damage and clean very easy. Note that the coating can be applied without dismounting the tires, which saves the customer a substantial amount of time and money.
LTC Thinner
LTC is proving to be an extremely popular product. Some customers in areas where the heat is high and humidity is low can order a solvent specifically developed for LTC. The solvent slows the drying time, allowing for ease of application especially when more than one coat is to be applied. This can be of great value when applying the Brilliance system of coatings.
