NO MORE BLUING OF CHROME
Tech Line has been developing a new clear coat for Chrome to stop bluing. The development was done using Nano technology and has proven extremely successful in testing. Trial samples will be sent to select shops this month for independent testing and comment. The coating is a two part system utilizing a clear metal etchant that does not change the finish of the chrome part at all. The initial Primer (CilGen PFC) is immediately followed by an application of the clear top coat. No Baking is required just a minimum of 24 hours of air curing. The coating also has excellent chemical and corrosion resistance making the surface easy to clean.
In testing the coating, with no ID coating applied to the test pipes has shown the ability to stop any gold or blue color from appearing in the chrome up to 1100F measured on the surface of the coating. Chrome blues at a substantially lower temperature. Parts tested with one half coated and one half not coated, have shown severe color changes on the uncoated portion and no color changes on the coated portion. Thermal shock testing has shown no delaminating.
SARTOR BROS: South Africa
Sartor Bros has advised us that they are now coating components for Nissan on trucks used in the mining industry. Sartor Bros has been coating similar components for Toyota for years.
FOXFIRE COATINGS: Oakboro, NC
Danny Ross advises us that he has had tremendous success coating metal plates, which rubber belts run on, using TLMB, top coated with TLML. The company had been replacing the belts every three months and the plates every year. After coating the belts are lasting 8 months and no plates have had to be replaced. This has saved the customer thousands of dollars in part replacement and maintenance costs.
