December 2009

We had an opportunity
to demonstrate how tough and wear resistant our newest
product is, at the PRI show. Using a small lathe we spun
DiamonDyze™
treated tubes of 6061 aluminum at high RPM while holding
a file against it. The coating wore the teeth off the
file. This was repeated time and time again, to the
amazement of all onlookers. It was also quite impressive
that immediately after running the file against the
part, that the temperature of the part was ambient. No
heat build up on the coated part was noticeable at all.
In fact the only thing building up, were the teeth from
the files, which was easily removed exposing the
undamaged color beneath. No other form of Colored
Anodizing has this level of wear resistance. We will
have a brief video up on the web site shortly showing
the coating in action. This will change the anodizing
industry.
DiamonDyze™
will be available under License only, to shops that are
trained and qualified in the application of the
material. Equipment and training will be available for
shops that do not yet offer anodizing, but wish to
expand their services into this lucrative market.
Existing anodizing companies will simply need to be
licensed after training, as DiamonDyze makes use of
standard colored (Type II) anodizing equipment and
processing. More information is available on our Web
Site’s Industrial pages.
PRI SHOW
The PRI show was down
in attendance this year. However the quality of the
attendees was excellent. It seems that the majority of
those in attendance were there to do business. We had
one of the best shows ever. The PRI show is a must do
for anyone in the High Performance Industry.
We enjoyed meeting
both new and old customers at the show and look forward
to meeting many more this year.
2009
Like everyone we at
Tech Line were concerned about the state of the economy.
Expecting a down turn, we made arrangements to
handle a significant drop in business. It never
materialized. While sales were down, the majority of the
drop came from our OEM business. The Aftermarket sales
held quite strong. In fact the sales in the last quarter
of 2009 were much higher than in the last quarter of
2008, which was one of our best quarters ever. These
sales were primarily Aftermarket sales.
We see 2010 as having
excellent prospects. We just signed a new major OEM
account agreement which was not expected earlier in the
year. A few new products are in development and we feel
they will continue to boost sales for Tech Line and our
customers world wide. The new
DiamonDyze™ (Patent Pending)
will be a major contributor to growth next year.
