May 2010
It has been several
years since we have had a price increase. However
continued increases in Raw Materials, Insurance and
other Expenses leave us with little choice. Fortunately
continued improvements in production techniques,
increased sales into the High Performance Market and new
products brought to market, allow us to keep the
increase to a very low figure. The actual rate of
increase will be a nominal, between 1 to 3%. The price
increase will be effective July 1, 2010.
OEM Market
As we know the OEM market is down due to the economic
issues we have all been dealing with. However we are
seeing an increase in activity and new opportunities
opening up for the use of our coatings. We hope to be
able to provide specifics in the months ahead. Of
particular interest are the need for thermal coatings on
Heavy Truck (Diesel) exhaust systems due to the higher
operating temperatures and the need to reduce
particulate emissions. Reductions in Cab and under hood
temperatures are also important and our coatings are
showing effectiveness in these areas as well.
Cilgen
For Wood
CilGen LTC is an excellent treatment
for wood. It will seal and protect against moisture and
chemical damage, as well as impart excellent UV
protection. It can be applied to most woods though
porous woods will need extra care. Generally multiple
coats will be required, but once coated the wood will be
impervious to most chemicals. In addition LTC resists
heat above the point at which wood can be burned adding
a layer of thermal protection.
For
Marine Applications
LTC and several other CilGen products are excellent for
Marine applications both above and below the water line.
Above the water line
virtually any part can be coated and will withstand salt
spray and chemical damage. When using the Brilliance
system extremely durable colors can be applied for both
cosmetic and functional purposes. All metals can be
coated, reducing the time and labor involved in
polishing bright work and other metal components. LTC
can even be applied to window surfaces to reduce UV
damage to interior materials.
Below the water line LTC can aid in reduced friction and
cavitation as well as inhibit marine growth. This layer
of protection works in both fresh and salt water
environments. It is found that even when Marine growth
does begin to appear on a coated surface, it easily
brushes off and at times simply operating the boat at
normal speeds is adequate, reducing the cost and labor
involved in cleaning a hull. LTC can also add an
additional layer of protection to painted surfaces.
