Tim wanted to let us know that he has been coating sump
pumps for the Dairy Industry. These pumps are exposed to
alkaline materials and everything else that gets washed
into the sump. Normally the pumps will last about 6
months. After coating with TechTrex the pumps are
lasting 1 ½ to 2 years.
CilGen
Storage temperatures for CilGen, as with any other High
Performance Coating, are very important. It is
recommended that the storage area be maintained at a
temperature of no more than 80F/27C. It has been
reported by some customers, who keep CilGen at
temperatures below 60F/16C that the coating sprays very
well.
Coating
handling
It
is highly recommended that all coatings be shaken and or
stirred prior to use. Many of our coatings contain
solids that will settle to the bottom of thee container
and need to be re dispersed.
In
addition all coatings should be poured through a filter
prior to spraying. The basic reason for this is that
small pieces of coating can collect at the opening or on
the seal/cap and harden or even cure, and the next time
product is poured these particles can be picked up and
become a spec on the surface after spraying. All
coatings or paints should be filtered before use for the
best finish.
The clear CilGen products should be poured through an
extremely fine filter like a coffee filter. Pigmented
products should be poured through medium to fine paint
filters.
