TECH LINE exhaust system coatings are designed to maintain adhesion at temperatures above the normal operating range of an exhaust system. Unless otherwise indicated temperatures given refer to the base metal temperature that a coating can normally be expected to handle. Depending on the resin system, TECH LINE coatings designed for exhaust systems, can handle base metal temperatures in excess of 2000°F. Color change can be expected at lower temperatures with many of the coatings. A color change does not necessarily reflect a failure of the coating, as color stability is secondary to the protective function. Several colors have maintained color stability, to base metal temperatures in excess of 1600°F. The use of multiple coats including MCS™ can raise the color stability of all exhaust system coatings.

  • Metallic Ceramic Coating
  • Excellent corrosion protection
  • Tested to over 1300°F base metal temperatures/1600°F Exhaust gas temperatures
  • Polishable and provides a variety of colored finishes depending on the polishing time.
  • Water based with no flammable solvents.
  • Can be applied to any metal that can handle the cure temperature, except magnesium
  • Available in quarts and gallons
  • Requires baking. Cure temperature 500°F for 1hour minimum.

 MCS Insulating Coating
  • Extreme temperature capable (2000°F +)
  • Water based coating, no VOC’s
  • Use under any TECH LINE exhaust system coating to increase the temperature that the top coating can withstand
  • Requires etching prior to top coating
  • Increases the temperature MCX can experience, without dulling.
  • Use in pipe I.D. as well as O.D.
  • Improve exhaust gas velocity, increase H.P.
  • Requires Baking. Cures at 500°F. Must be oven cured

HHBK Insulating Coating

  • Extreme temperature capable (2000°F +)
  • Excellent Thermal barrier
  • Water based coating, no VOC’s
  • Use under any TECH LINE exhaust system coating to increase the temperature that the top coating can withstand
  • Use on pipe the O.D.only and requires no etching before top coating.
  • Improve exhaust gas velocity, increase H.P.
  • Requires Baking. Cures at 500°F. Must be oven cured

   
   

PrevCor Corrosion Protection Coating

  • High temperature capable (1300°F +)
  • Water based coating, no VOC’s
  • Use under any TECH LINE exhaust system coating to increase the protection that the top coating can withstand
  • Allow to dry. Apply topcoat. Cure at topcoat cure temp.

TLHB HI HEAT I.D. COATING

  • Modified Polymer
  • Designed for the I.D. of chrome pipes to reduce bluing
  • Excellent thermal barrier for exhaust ports
  • Smooth finish enhances flow in exhaust ports
  • May be flowed, brushed, sponged or sprayed
  • Requires baking. Cures at 300°F minimum. Must be oven baked
