Process Coatings Tip on using MCS inside a pipe.
Preheat pipe to 150f, then flow MCS into the pipe. This virtually eliminates flaking from MCS being thick at the ends where it normally builds up somewhat. Preheating the pipe to over 100f also helps when applying MCS to the O.D.
Doug also passed on this trick for the I.D. sprayer. Put a small weight on one end of the hose and then hang in the oven at about 150f for 2 minutes. This takes the kinks out of the tubing and allows it to easily slide through the header tube. Cermakrome Tip on a brighter polish with Cermakrome from Bruce at Microcoat
Use warm water to create a brighter polish in your vibratory polisher. Keeping the water temperature at about 110f seems to work best. In many instances the water will reach this temperature in operation, if it is being used for an extended period. For short runs warm the water up before polishing.
CD AVAILABLE (DEC 99)
We are working on developing a CD with ALL information available, covering TECH LINE products.
This will include the full catalog, data sheets, test results, MSDS, endorsement letters, resin compatibility chart, trouble shooting guide and anything else we can think of. This should make it easy for any company to access this information and print it out at will.
APPROVED APPLICATOR PROGRAM
The interest shown in our new program indicates that we have made a wise decision in proceeding in this way. The general consensus is that it will aid everyone in developing the market for TECH LINE products.
The information packet will be available in December. All information that we require will be listed as well as a list of the coated parts that each shop should submit.
Each Approved Applicator will receive a certificate for display. This Certificates will be available for both Cermakrome and Powerkote. We are dividing the line, for the purposes of this program, into two categories. The Cermakrome category, will inlcude all exhaust system products. The Powerkote category will cover all internal engine coatings. We recognize that we have products that fall outside these two categories. For the purpose of this program we are focusing only on the product catagories listed above. If we receive calls on the other products we will send them to the nearest Approved Applicator of either category.
One of the most frequently asked question, deals with, what "protection" can we offer to companies participating in the program. The concern is that there would be no benefit if everyone buying TECH LINE products could be an Approved Applicator. Not every company purchasing our products will be qualified for the program. It is our intent to approve only those companies that demonstrate the ability to do quality
work, have the necessary equipment and can adequately serve their local market. Of course a company can solicit work at a national level as well. The number of companies approved, in a given area, will also be based on the size of the market. This will be a decision that we will make, based on our assessment of the existing condition of the market as well as future potential.
Please let us know if you have any questions or ideas that could help make this program work for all of us.
