Lexus SUV's N.P.I.

Chris has found an interesting application for our DFL-1. He has coated the slip joint on the drive shaft for Lexus SUV's. The Dealer that has had this work done by N.P.I. indicates that it has eliminated all the stiction that normally seems to occur. It makes for much smoother operation and the customers are very happy with the improvement. You just never know where a new application will be found ..

NEW COATING

We are currently working on a pre-coat for Cast Iron parts. Cast iron is very porous and as cast can have a very rough surface. When a thin film coating is applied, "points" of the cast iron may protrude through the coating. These exposed surfaces will then rust. In our initial testing we have had no rust forming. Even after exposing a pre-coated only part, to 750f. This pre-coat does need to be baked on. However it will handle temperatures in excess of 2000f. The pre-coat works extremely well under TECHTREX™ coated parts, in testing, and should also work well under coatings applied to exhaust system components. While many of our Applicators have been using Cermakrome under our Colorguard Cast Iron coating, this could be used as a replacement and it will cost less than Cermakrome.

Bill gave us a call about a couple of applications he has in test using TECHTREX™. The results have been very good, in severe wear environments. Bill has been using our 74000 series coating. The two applications hr has given us information on are as follows:

Cutter type pump. At this time we have doubled the normal life expectancy of the pump & the pump continues to operate within normal parameters.

On the above application the entire inside of the pump was coated including the vanes/impellers etc.

Pipe transports a media from bin to a machine. At this time we have successfully more than doubled the life expectancy of the pipe.

Performance Racing Inductry Trade Show

We would like to remind everyone that the P.R.I. Trade Show is getting closer. It will be held at the Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN December 9-11. WE look forward top meeting as many of our customers as can come. We are located in the main hall in Peninsula booth 2343.
